CONGRATULATIONS to Gracean Scholar BRYCE AINSLEY SANCHEZ (Gr. 11-1)! Bryce emerged as the 2-time NATIONAL CHAMPION in the 22nd Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) last January 18, 2020.
The Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) is the oldest and most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among junior and senior high school students.
Last year, Bryce also brought honor to the school as he was the NATIONAL CHAMPION for the 21st Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO).
The PMO has three stages: the Qualifying Stage, the Area Stage and the National Stage. Of the thousands of high school students across the entire Philippines who take the qualifying exam for the first stage, only the top fifty (50) students are chosen from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR . The top Fifty (50) then undergo the rigorous Area Stage which is a written competition among students. Of these Area Stage qualifiers only the top twenty (20) then move on to the National Stage where participants again undergo not only a written test but also an oral competition.
The PMO – the mother of Philippine Mathematics contest – is the stepping stone for the country’s representative to the annual mother of ALL mathematics competitions – the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
We pray for God’s very Best in Bryce’s future Mathematical journey.
