GCC Teams Wins Major Awards in Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO)

The GCC Robotics teams bagged First Place (Elementary division) and 4th Place (High School division) in the Open Category of the recently 9th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (or PRO), held on September 10, 2010 at the SM Annex, North Edsa. The theme for this year’s PRO-Open Category was, “Robots Promote Tourism: Dynamic Robots Promote a National or Cultural Heritage of your Country.”


In the Elementary division, the GCC Robotics teams composed of: Josh Roshown Cheng (Gr 6-2), Shaina Santiago (Gr 6-3), and Sean Patrick Lee (Gr 6-6), won as Champion for their entry, “WOW Philippines Tour: Experiencing Nature and Adventure, Nurture (Great Food) and Culture.” In the High School division, Graceans Kyle David Dee (HS 3-6), Edrich Hans Chua (HS 1-6), and Janelle Laohoo (HS 4-6), bagged 4th Place for their entry, “Buhay na Museo.”

There were thirty-one (31) teams for the Elementary and sixty-three (63) teams for the High School who joined the competition.

Both GCC teams will be representing the Philippines in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) to be held on November 5-7, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center, SM-Mall of Asia (SM-MOA), Philippines.
